Meet our game's sword combat; the traditional and primary way of fighting in our game.
For the past few weeks, Conner has been making sure all the expected combat feels normal, with standards like invincibility frames, knockback, and flashing damage indicators, which you can see in this short video!
The other main type of combat we have is the whip, which we'll be working on in the new year. While the sword will only have some basic damage upgrades as you progress, the whip will allow for different item combinations (ie, attaching sticky explosives to give it a fiery, combustible crack!) and more strategic combat.
Until then, we plan to work on implementing dialogue and quest-giving into Cassonia, along with sound effect, our first music track from our amazing composer, and the first village!
The last thing I wanted to show is a gif of our first enemy type: Eldritch Beasts! I teased them a little in the last blog post, so here's another peak at them. This one currently needs attacking and death animations, and then it's done.
