The Plains and Houses

Cassonia is going to have 5 main sections: Mount Barume, the forest Marelia, Castle Dawnmore, the Cultist's Woods, and the Great Plains. I haven't been drawing artwork for very long, due to designing the gameplay and college getting in the way, but already most of the Great Plains' artwork is done.


So without further ado, here is what some of the art looks like for the Great Plains:

When making this, I wanted it to be reminiscent of A Link to the Past (alttp), and I think that overall it works pretty well. You'll notice in the first picture that there's a bird and squirrel, and we actually just recently finished implementing them into the game. They'll go about their own business, foraging for food and running around. Don't get too close, though, or they may get scared and run away!


I also made a template for a house we'll be able to put in multiple places, so here's some of the artwork for that:

What's nice about this is all the interior tiles can be moved around and rotated, allowing for a lot of variety without many tiles. There's more decorations I didn't show here, but it still won't quite be enough for the plains village, Carmere. In the future, there'll be more variety, but it shouldn't take long to complete.


I don't have any game footage for now, but I'm hoping I'll have some to show you soon! We have a lot of the basic actions coded and are working on putting the newer artwork into the game.
